ISLANDAP ADVANCED promotes, from ISLANDAP (MAC/1.1a/207) new objectives in terms of food safety, waste reduction and efficient use of resources in the ORs, all in a coordinated and multidisciplinary inter-regional way, increasing the working groups in Madeira and Cape Verde and including the Azores. Three specific objectives will be promoted:

  1. Research and development of by-products and food and biological improvements for sustainable aquaponic production adapted to ORs;
  2. Research and development in lightweight technologies and automation for sustainable aquaponic production adapted to RUPs;
  3. Research and development in the circular economy to generate innovation and added value in sustainable development and bioproducts adapted to the ORs.
